From the base camp, you will have the picturesque view of majestic Mount Everest (south). The trek is equally cultural and includes several monasteries. All in all, Everest Base Camp Trek is a complete package for any Trekker.
2) Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Annapurna Base Camp is one of the most preferred Trekking destination in Nepal and it is widely popular. And why not, it has so much to offer that it’s almost impossible to grasp all of them in a single trek. Situated inside the protected Annapurna Conservation Area, It is home to numerous birds, insects, plants and other creatures. You will find several native people who have been living there since ages.Thorung La Pass (5416 m) and Mount Annapurna itself are major attractions of this trek. What more, you will find few natural hot springs to wipe off your tiredness! During this trek you will walk about 115 km and every day you will cover 10 to 20 km of distance. The Trek generally lasts from 8 to 12 days.
3) Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek
Mount Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world and second highest in Nepal after Mount Everest. The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek lies inside the protected Kanchenjunga conservation area which is a natural habitat for animals like Assamese Macaque, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Snow Leopard, Red Panda and more.
This is one of the challenging trekking destination of Nepal because of several reasons, altitude being the major one. The trail is difficult to ascend and is quite steep and rough. Accommodation facilities aren’t abundant. This trek is rich in wildlife, vegetation as well as cultural diversity. This is a moderate level trek and takes around 25 to 30 days depending upon your itinerary.
4) Manaslu Trek
The meaning of word Manaslu, roughly translated, happens to be “Mountain of the spirit”. Manaslu Trek is a trek in the isolated region and is quite strenuous one. This off beaten trail is full of several rivers, waterfalls, exquisite lush green forests and the royal mountain sceneries. Trekking in Manaslu region has been easier since the addition of trekking tiles and other improvements in the infrastructure. Though the region was affected by the earthquake in 2015, it is fully renovated and is ready to be trekked upon.
Manaslu Trek is quite a longer one and covers around 177 km of distance. This trek is slowly gaining popularity and is often used as an alternative to the infamous Everest Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Tsum Valley Trek can be a great addition to your Manaslu Trek at the expense of few days and few dollars.
5) Upper Mustang Trek
This is one of the most trekked region and widely popular trek, also dubbed as the forbidden kingdom of Nepal because of its isolation from rest of Nepal. Unlike other mountainous, snow-capped trekking destinations, the Upper Mustang offers completely different flavour for the trekkers. It is a wonderful desert valley and the influence of Tibetan culture can be clearly seen in the region. The region has some of the world’s oldest monasteries caves and mysterious landscapes making it the most unique trekking trail of Nepal. You will witness the lifestyles of the native mountain people residing there. This trek is also one of the major pilgrimage trekking destination of Nepal.
You cannot trek alone in this region as a guide is mandatory as per the rule of Nepal government.
